Dr. Acevedo joined the full-time WCJC chemistry faculty in August 2011 after completing his Ph.D. in applied physics at Rice University. He is also a graduate of the University of Houston, earning a B.S. in chemistry. Dr. Acevedo has taught both chemistry and physics courses at WCJC.

Dr. Kam H. Chu received his Ph.D in Physics (Experimental Condensed Matter Physics and Superconductivity) from University of Houston. Subsequently, he did his postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Center for Superconductivity, a world-class material science research institute. After several productive years in information technology as a technical consultant, Dr. Chu returned to academic pursuits. He began teaching for WCJC in 2013. At WCJC, he teaches College Physics I/II and University Physics I/II.
