Electronics Engineering Technology

Prepare for a career in electronics by designing, building, and testing projects in our labs.  The WCJC Electronics Engineering Technology program has been placing graduates in industry for over 55 years.  Students enrolled in the program learn electronics theory, and experience hands on training and skills in a laboratory setting.

Level I Certificate
Designed to provide an introduction to the field of Electronics Engineering Technology, this Level I Certificate will provide the basic knowledge needed to hold an entry-level position in industry in positions such as Electronics Assembler, Electronics Technician and Device Repair Technician and related roles. Courses in this Certificate can be applied to the A.A.S degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.

Associate of Applied Science Degree
Electronics Engineering Technology is a four-semester, 60-credit hour program leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree. This program will teach you electronics theory, component-level troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, along with hands-on experience in our labs.

  • Out-of-District Tuition: $9,910
  • Approximate textbooks and supplies: $1,255

David Kucera

Department Head and Instructor

Mr. Kucera has been an instructor at WCJC for over 25 years. He earned his A.A.S. from WCJC and his B.A.A.S. from the University of Houston - Victoria. Prior to his teaching career, Mr. Kucera worked in the electronics industry for more than eight years. He is currently the Program Director.

Gabriel Escobedo

Instructor

Mr. Escobedo has worked as a test engineer, test technician, and a system debugger in the electronics and manufacturing industry. He earned his B.S. from Texas A&M University - Kingsville.
