Appeals are due in the Financial Aid Office at the Wharton campus by 12:00 noon on Friday, October 10, 2008.  The Appeal Committee will meet on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.  Any supporting documentation must be attached to the request at the time of submission. Requests received after the October 10, deadline may be held for review until the next appeal meeting which will be held prior to the start of the spring semester.  Students should check their Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status online for appeals decisions.

The financial aid program at Wharton County Junior College is designed to provide financial aid through scholarships, grants, loans, and on-campus employment. Inquiries concerning student aid should be addressed to the Student Financial Aid Office at (979) 532-6345. Applications for financial aid should be completed accurately and received in the Financial Aid Office along with any additional required forms by the priority deadline.

Financial aid eligibility is determined for only one year at a time. All approvals are based on the assumption that Congress will appropriate funds for the various programs. Consequently, approved aid terminates if money is not allocated to Wharton County Junior College.

To be eligible for financial assistance, a student must (1) be accepted for enrollment (if a new student) or, if currently enrolled, be in good standing; (2) not be in default on any student loan; (3) not owe a refund on a grant previously received at any institution; and (4) meet Wharton County Junior College’s satisfactory academic progress policy.
