New WCJC Employees/Change of Assignment

Traci Llanes
Administrative Assistant to the
Senior Vice President of Instruction

Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) congratulates Traci Llanes as she moves from Dental Hygiene Receptionist/Secretary to her new position as Administrative Assistant for Dr. Ty Pate, Senior Vice President of Instruction.

Traci, a graduate of WCJC, is currently attending the University of Houston. She is seeking a degree in Biology and Psychology. Traci has worked for WCJC since December 2005. Prior to being employed with the College, Traci held several other secretarial positions.

WCJC wishes Traci the very best as she begins her new position as Administrative Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Instruction.
Rachel Molano 
Temporary Assistant Cashier

Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) is pleased to welcome Ms. Rachel Molano to the staff of the WCJC Business Office on the main campus. Rachel received an Administrative Assistant Certificate from WCJC. While Rachel was taking courses at the college, she worked as a College Work Study student worker for Gloria Vela in the Business Office. 

Rachel has extensive cashing experience with South Texas Medical Clinics. Rachel was employed at the clinic for over five years. This cashiering experience with the clinic will be beneficial to her as she starts her new position with WCJC on April 21, 2008. All of us at WCJC wish you well as you start your new position. Welcome Rachel to our organization.
Ruben Ramirez
Custodian

Ruben Ramirez, a familiar face on the Wharton County Junior College campus, has accepted the position of full-time custodian for the college’s main campus. Ruben starts his new position on May 7th.

Ruben has worked for WCJC as Mail Carrier/Maintenance Apprentice and as a part-time custodian. Ruben has more than 30 years experience in the maintenance field, with 15 years being with the Wharton Independent School District.

Congratulations and best wishes Ruben as you being your new position at WCJC. 

Bruce Kieler
Temporary Coordinator/Grant Writing

Bruce Kieler who previously worked for Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) has returned from India and accepted a temporary position through August, 2008 with the College.  Bruce left WCJC last year to accept a Fulbright Scholar award from the U. S. Department of State to research emergency preparedness and responses to infection disease threats among farmers in rural areas near the city of Chennai, India.

Bruce’s new position with the College is Coordinator/Grant Writing.  Bruce will be working under Dan Jones, Director of Institutional Effectiveness.   Bruce’s office is on the main WCJC Campus in Room A-210A.  If you are interested in pursuing a grant, submit your request to Dan, who will review and if appropriate delegate the project to Bruce. 

WCJC welcomes Bruce back to the states and looks forward to hearing about his adventures in India.  

 

Lindsey Campbell
Temporary Human Resources Clerk

Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) welcomes Lindsey Campbell to the Human Resources Department. Lindsey is a graduate of Needville High School, Wharton County Junior College, and the University of Houston/Victoria.  Lindsey holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications.

Lindsey has worked in the retail, health, and education fields.  She was an Assistant Night Manager with a women’s retail store in Houston.  At Avalon Place, here in Wharton, she worked with various aspects of Human Resources, including hiring, orienting employees, processing payroll, and handling benefits.  She also has experience with Avalon Place in marketing their facility. Lindsey last position was as a substitute teacher with New Gulf Elementary.

WCJC is pleased to have Lindsey Campbell on its Human Resources team and wishes her the best in her new position.  

Elecia Delgado
Custodian

Elecia Delgado has been promoted from part-time custodian to full-time custodian with Wharton County Junior College (WCJC).  Elecia began her full-time position with the College on March 3, 2008. 

Elecia is very knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of being a custodian. She previously worked for the East Bernard Junior High School as a custodian. Elecia was with the EBISD for six years and left the district with good references indicating she takes pride in her work.

WCJC congratulates Elecia on her promotion to full-time and wishes her well in her new position.

 

Steve Sieben
Director/Instructor Nuclear Power Technology

Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) is pleased to welcome Mr. Steve Sieben as Director/Instructor Nuclear Power Technology.  Mr. Sieben received his AA from WCJC.  After graduation, Mr. Sieben worked for South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) for over 20 years.  Mr. Sieben’s prior work experience with STPNOC will bring a world of knowledge, practical as well textbook, to students in the new Nuclear Power Technology Program.  Mr. Sieben has held numerous positions with STPNOC.  Mr. Sieben began his career as an Equipment Operator and then advanced to other positions such as Unit Supervisor, Outage Manager, Nuclear Training Instructor, Project Manager, Quality Assurance Auditor, and his last position was as Training Specialist. 

WCJC is proud to have a former graduate as a full-time instructor with the College. WCJC wishes you well in your new position and is sure the new program will be successful under your expert leadership.

 

Theresa Martinez
Evening Library Clerk/Project Assistant

Theresa Martinez has been selected for the new full-time evening Library Clerk/Project Assistant position.  Ms. Martinez is not new to Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) as she has worked part-time in the Evening Library/Open Computer Lab position.

Ms. Martinez is a graduate of Wharton High School and also has a Micro-Computer Training Certificate from WCJC.  Prior to working for the College, Ms. Martinez was employed in retail.  

Wharton County Junior College welcomes Theresa to the College and wishes her the best in her new position.

 

Anna “Kay” Gardner
Administrative Assistant to Vice President of Tech & Institutional Research

Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) welcomes Kay Gardner as the new Administrative Assistant to Vice President of Technology & Institutional Research.  Kay comes to WCJC with over five years experience higher education experience.  Her former positions include A/R Banner Specialist, Treasury Assistant, Temporary Conversion Specialist, and Financial Aid Advisor with Houston Baptist University in Houston, TX.  Kay also has experience as a Database Assistant with Symon Communications and over ten years experience with Windham School in various positions.

Kay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Missions/Bible from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO.  Her first day on the Wharton Campus will be February 4, 2008.  Please help make her feel welcome!

 

Jimmy Tucker
Assistant Registrar

Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) welcomes Jimmy Tucker to the Office of Admissions and Registration as Assistant Registrar at the Wharton Campus.  Relocating from Austin, Texas, Jimmy will be starting with WCJC on January 22, 2008.  Jimmy comes to WCJC with over 34 years of service with the State of Texas.  His previous employment includes working as Staff Service Officer for the Texas Department of Insurance Liquidation, Purchaser II for the Texas Department of Insurance, and Administrative Assistant and most recently Program Specialist for the Department of Health and Human Services Commission.

Jimmy holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Austin Community College, Austin, Texas.  Please welcome Jimmy to the WCJC family the next time you stop by the Registrar’s Office on the Wharton Campus!
