Payroll and Benefits Department
The Payroll and Benefits Department is responsible for the
orientation and implementation of benefits and disbursement
of payroll to the employees of Wharton County Junior
College. Any inquiries pertaining to the process of payroll
or employee deductions may be referred to the Payroll and
Benefits Department.
Mission Statement
The Payroll and Benefits Department strives diligently to ensure every
employee is informed and assisted in receiving their
benefits and is paid accurately and on a timely basis. The
Payroll and Benefits Department adheres to its legal
obligations by complying with federal and state laws along
with Wharton County Junior College policies and procedures.
The Payroll and Benefits staff strives to provide the best
customer service to all Wharton County Junior College
employees and all other outside customers.
Important Dates:
Payroll Timesheet Deadlines
Timesheets must be
submitted to the Payroll and Benefits Office on or before
the 5th of the month. Maintenance time cards are due on the
Monday prior to the Friday payroll disbursement.
Payroll Run Dates
Full-time faculty, administrative
staff, and support staff are paid on a 12 month pay
schedule. The payroll will be distributed on the last
college work day of the month. Part-time employees and
College Workstudy Students are paid on the 15th of each
month. If a pay date falls on a weekend, the payroll is
distributed on the Friday before the weekend. Adjunct
faculty are paid four pays per semester. Fall semester is
paid on the last work day of September, October, November
and December and Spring semester is paid on the last work
day of February, March, April and May.
