In
addition, WCJC partneres with Texas State
Technical College (TSTC) to bring other high
demand programs offered by TSTC to the
center. TSTC programs include:
Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Technology (Commercial)
Mechanical Engineering Technology (CNC
Programming), Air Conditioning Service
and Machining (CNC Operation)
The
81,500 - square - foot facility constructed in 2001,
features a technology wing housing bay areas for
programs in Diesel Equipment Technology, Machining,
and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
Technology. The remainder of the campus contains
four laboratories for chemistry, physics, biology,
and geology, 17 classrooms, six computer labs,
interactive television classrooms, administrative
and faculty offices, and a bookstore with a coffee
shop open to the public.
Through
the support of the George Foundation, the City of
Richmond and Rosenberg, Lamar Consolidated
Independent School District, Texas State Technical
College, the communities of Wharton and Fort Bend
County, and the WCJC Board of Trustees, this much
needed technical center has brought services to the
fastest growing county in Texas.
