Transferring from WCJC to 4 year universities

Students planning to transfer to a Texas public university should complete a Texas Common Transfer Application. These may be obtained at the counselors’ office on each campus, or may be completed on-line at www.applytexas.org. The application booklet also contains valuable information on application requirements, deadlines, and college contact numbers. Students needing information on private Texas universities or out of state schools should contact them directly.

Wharton County Junior College assigns course numbers according to the Texas Common Course Numbering system. This helps determine transfer equivalencies to many Texas universities. Information on transfer equivalencies to many Texas universities may be found in the counseling offices. In addition, many of the Texas universities now provide, through their websites, equivalency information specific to WCJC courses. Website addresses can also be found in the Common Transfer Application booklet.

Transferring credit to WCJC from other schools

Students planning to transfer credit into WCJC should contact the registrar’s office at 1-800-561- WCJC (9252) ex. 6383. Official copies of transcripts are required to assure credit where applicable.
