Guidelines and WCJC credit by examination policy.
- The high school course is listed
in the Statewide Articulation Course Crosswalk and is
equivalent to one or more high school credits.
- The notation -TP in the course
abbreviation identifies the high school course as ATC
and content-enhanced (e.g., ECAD-TP).
- The student successfully completes
the course with a grade of 80 (3.0) or better.
- If multiple courses and/or
prerequisite courses are noted in the Statewide
Articulation Course Crosswalk, a student also
successfully completes these course(s) with a grade of
80 (3.0) or better.
- The student must complete the
course or final course in an articulated course sequence
with a junior (grade 11) or senior (grade 12) standing.
- The student must enroll at WCJC
within 15 months of high school graduation.
- The student must successfully
complete 6 additional, non-developmental college credit
hours in any subject area.
- The student must declare a college
major that includes the equivalent college course(s) in
the degree plan.
- The college course must be in
WCJC’s course inventory for credit to be granted.
Procedure:
- Applications for admissions to
WCJC and official high school transcript must be on file
in the Registrar’s Office before students apply for tech
prep credit.
- A criterion for awarding college
credit for postsecondary technical (WECM) courses is
mandated through the Advanced Technical Credit (ATC)
Program standard articulation agreement.
- A list of courses approved for
tech prep is determined each year through the Advanced
Technical Credit (ATC) Program Articulation Crosswalk.
- Student seeking tech prep credit shall notify the
Registrar’s Office to initiate the evaluation.
