2012 National Finals Results

Congratulations WCJC Men’s Rodeo Team!

The WCJC Rodeo Team finished 8th in the national standings at the end of the 2012 CNFR held in Casper, WY. It was the 7th time in the past 10 years that WCJC has ended up with a team in the top 10 of the national standings.

Leading the way was WCJC bull rider Trey Benton (Rock Island, TX), who finished 4th in the final national standings. Sophomore cowboys Bull Austin (Zachary, LA) and Corey Hendrick (Needville, TX) finished 9th and 10th in the team roping event.

Freshman cowboys Reid Barker, bull rider (Comfort, TX), Cody Kohleffel, team roper (East Bernard, TX), and Austin Santikos, team roper (Tomball, TX) aso competed at the CNFR.

Trey Benton was the 2012 Southern Region Champion Bull rider, while Reid Barker was the Reserve Champion. Cody Koehleffel and Austin Santikos finished as the Southern Region Reserve Champion team ropers, while Bull Austin and Corey Hendrick finish in 4th place

PRCA National Finals Rodeo Qualifiers

Hats off to WCJC alumni Trey Benton, Justin Maas, and Braley Harter for qualifying for the PRCA National Finals Rodeo held Dec.6-15, 2012 at the Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Congratulations to Trey Benton – Rock Island, TX. The WCJC cowboy was last year’s Southern Region Champion bull rider who not only qualified to the College Finals, but the PRCA NFR as well! Benton goes into the NFR ranked 3rdin the world standings. He is also this year’s PRCA Bull Riding Rookie of the Year! Congratulations Trey, we are proud of you.

Congratulations to Justin Maas – Giddings, TX. Justin qualified for his 7th NFR appearance and leads the world standings in the Calf Roping event. Best of luck at the NFR!

Congratulations to Bradley Harter – Aledo, TX. Bradley qualified for his 7th NFR in a row. He is currently ranked 14th in the world standings. Best wishes at the NFR!
