General Overview
Many of the beneficial
experiences students have in college are associated with
extra-curricular activities, which provide students with
opportunities for the development and expression of special
interests and abilities, for acquiring social graces, for
practicing the mechanics of group action, for developing
leadership, and for recreation.
All student organizations and
activities conform to the educational objectives and
administrative regulations of the college. They are approved
by the Dean of Student Services, who administers the
activity calendar, and are sponsored by members of the
faculty and staff. Participation in certain student activities
requires enrollment in a credit courses or programs, and in
some cases, auditions or approval of an instructor. Included
in these categories are the Pioneer Band, the Choir, the
Chamber Singers, the Speech Squad, and intercollegiate
athletics.
WCJC's student organizations
meet at various times and may utilize the
"clubroom" in the "SUB" (located in the
basement of the Pioneer Student Center).
For more information on
meeting times and locations contact the the
appropriate faculty advisor.
