Leading to Initial Texas Teacher Certification

This is a recommended course of study for students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree at any Texas public university offering baccalaureate degree programs leading to initial teacher certification in specific content area teaching fields/academic disciplines.  Students who fully complete this course of study will be eligible to apply for the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree at WCJC.  Students taking the Education courses will be required to complete criminal history checks.

Completion of an AAT does not guarantee the student admission into a teacher education program.  Students who complete the AAT will be required to meet any and all entrance requirements of the receiving university and the educator preparation program, including grade point average and/or testing requirements.
