would like to welcome you to the Continuing Education
Department at Wharton County Junior College. This
department offers a wide range of vocational and personal
enrichment, non-credit courses that can meet the needs for
both the workplace and life long learning activities that
can be used for recreational purposes to be used in everyday
life. In addition, businesses and industries can capitalize
on education and training for their employees through our
continuing education courses.
Beginning the Fall 2009, the Continuing Education department
is “going green”.
We will discontinue the use of printed schedules for
advertising our courses. We will use alternative marketing
methods, such as this website as tools to make you aware of
current course offerings, as well as upcoming events,
conferences, seminars, and CEU opportunities.
Within the Wharton County Junior College district,
Continuing Education delivers flexible, diverse, visionary
instruction that is responsive to the needs of its public,
private, and corporate citizens. Continuing Education
provides workforce training, personal and professional
development courses, and other outreach programs to enhance
individual, community, and economic development and growth
for everyone.
Beyond personal enrichment, our affordable, customized
training can help improve and enhance an employee’s
performance so the organization can have a higher standard
and can stay one step ahead of the competition.
I would like to thank you for visiting our web site, and I
hope that you will keep coming back to us for all of your
training needs.
Sincerely,
Christine Nevarez

Education non-credit offerings are designed to be responsive
to community and business needs. A small sampling of topics
offered through Wharton County Junior College's Division of
Continuing Education non-credit programming includes

aide, foreign language training, ESL, and a broad variety of
training in the latest computer software packages. Programs
can be customized to meet the needs of businesses or public

Citizens Center that serves Wharton and Colorado counties.
This program provides in-home meals and homemaker services
to eligible senior citizens in the community.
