COSMETOLOGY (CSME)

  CSME 1401.  Orientation to Cosmetology.                             4:3:7

Designed to teach the rules and regulations of the Cosmetology Commission; classroom rules, equipment safety, professional image, bacterial decontamination and infection control are also covered. Prerequisite: None.

  CSME 1405.  Fundamentals of Cosmetology.                        4:3:7

Designed to teach skills in draping, shampooing, manicuring, and facials. Prerequisite: None.

  CSME 1451.  Artistry of Hair Theory and Practice.                 4:3:7

Designed to teach the basic skills of hair cutting and styling.  Prerequisite: None.

  CSME 1453.  Chemical Reformation and Related Theory.     4:3:7

Designed to teach skills in the art of permanent waving and chemical relaxing.  Prerequisite: None.

  CSME 1491.  Special Topics in Cosmetology.                        4:1:6

Teaches knowledge of different areas of work in the cosmetology field. Prerequisite: None.

  CSME 2237.  Advanced Techniques.                                      2:1:7

Designed to teach advanced skills in hair cutting. Prerequisite:  None.

Designed to introduce students to skills in owning or managing a salon. Prerequisite: None.

  CSME 2401.  The Principals of Hair Color and Theory.           4:3:7

Designed to teach skills in the art of hair coloring.  Prerequisite: None.
