The Wharton County Junior College Dental Hygiene Clinic
services can help you with your dental care needs. The on-site dental
hygiene clinic typically services over 1,200 patients per year.
Under the supervision of licensed dental and dental hygiene instructors,
our students perform a number of dental care services similar to those offered
at local dental offices. And, we would be happy to forward your dental
records, such as x-rays, to your personal dentist.
Services include dental prophylaxis (dental cleaning), periodontal exam, full
mouth x-rays, panoramic x-rays, oral cancer screening, blood pressure
screening, sealants, dental exam for cavities, oral hygiene instruction,
fluoride treatment, and nutritional counseling. Minimal fees are $15
but are often waived for indigent care; senior citizen discounts are $5.
Patients requiring only sealants or x-rays will be charged $20 but may also be
waived for indigent care or senior citizens. Also, free services are
provided to WCJC employees, students.
Although the clinic is closed during the
summer, we offer our services during the fall and spring semesters.
