   RADR 1201  Introduction to Radiography (formerly RADT 1222)        2:1:2

An overview of the historical development of radiography, basic radiation protection, an introduction to medical terminology, ethical and legal issues for health care professionals, and an orientation to the program and the health care system. Prerequisite: Acceptance to Radiologic Technology Program. [Offered fall semester.] Type: Tech

An introduction in patient assessment, infection control procedures, emergency and safety procedures, communication and patient interaction skills, and basic pharmacology.

An introduction to radiographic positioning terminology, the proper manipulation of equipment, positioning and alignment of the anatomical structure and equipment, and evaluation of images for proper demonstration of basic anatomy.   Prerequisite: Acceptance to Radiologic Technology Program.    RADR 2313 Radiation Biology and Protection (formerly RADT 2433)          3:3:0

Effects of radiation exposure on biological systems. Includes typical medical exposure levels, methods for measuring and monitoring radiation, and methods for protecting personnel and patients from excessive exposure.   Prerequisite: Acceptance to Radiologic Technology Program.    RADR 2333 Advanced Medical Imaging (formerly RADT 2320)             3:3:0

Specialized imaging modalities. Includes concepts and theories of equipment operations and their integration for medical diagnosis.   Prerequisite: Acceptance to Radiologic Technology Program. [Offered spring semester.] Type: Tech

   RADR 2335 Radiologic Technology Seminar (formerly RADT 2605)             3:2:3

A capstone course focusing on the synthesis of professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes in preparation for professional employment and lifelong learning. Prerequisite: Acceptance to Radiologic Technology Program. [Offered summer I and summer II semesters (combined).] Type: Tech
