Study of the pathology and general health
management of diseases and injuries across the life span. Topics include
etiology, symptoms, and the physical and psychological reactions to diseases and

Study of the basic structure of medical words
including prefixes, suffixes, roots, combining forms, plurals, pronunciation,

Introduction to surgical procedures and related
pathologies. Emphasis on surgical procedures related to the general,

perioperative patient care. Prerequisite: SRGT 1405

The Capstone Course SRGT 2461 is the culminating evaluative course that assesses
the outcome of the major. Students must complete this course with a grade of C
or better.
