This course is an overview of basic medical terminology related to the health care industry. Emphasis is placed on human body systems, anatomy, diseases, and treatments. Homework, exams, and regular attendance are required. Textbook required. 

Prerequisite: 
  High School Diploma or GED – Need official copy of high school transcript showing graduation date, college transcript OR copy of GED certificate upon registering for course.

  Pre-TASP READING test (or equivalent, i.e. TASP, ACT etc) – Pre-TASP score of 14 or above. To schedule your Pre-TASP test, call 1-800-561-9252 extension 8434 in Sugar Land;, ext. 6386 or 6457 in Wharton OR ext. 1532 at the Fort Bend Tech Center in Richmond. There is no charge for the exam. Exam can only be taken once a semester. Review of a reading test study guide may be helpful before taking exam.
