Dr. Paul Spellman has been an instructor of History for
eight years and Division Chair
of Communications and Fine Arts since 2001. Dr. Spellman has
a Ph.D. in American History
as well as a graduate degree in school administration. His undergraduate degree was in American Literature with a minor in Theatre. He is the author of four books on Texas History, the most recent published in
2006. Paul also has an extensive background in music and drama performance and brings these to our division as chair. Paul and his wife are active in
church and civic affairs.

This is Phil Hoke’s fourth year as director of theatre
at WCJC. He received a B.F.A. in acting directing from Texas Tech and followed this with a M. A. from Southwest Texas State University. Phil has
taught for many schools in the San Antonio area including Palo Alto College, St. Mary's University and the University of Texas at San Antonio. His teaching has been recognized by several groups including the International Communication Association, The San Antonio Neighborhood Youth Organization,
and in several editions of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers
. Phil recently published a book in communication and he is the author of several one-act plays which were produced at the Hertzberg Circus Museum.
