Program Curriculum

The Program Curriculum for our Language Arts/Developmental Studies area emphasizes an integral relationship with our ENGL 1301 and ENGL 1302 freshman courses. The intent of our Developmental Curriculum is to prepare each student to succeed in their first year of English, a required college core course. These non-transfer courses are designed to improve reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills for each student, and in some cases to provide preparation to pass the THEA examination. Our courses are taught in laboratory settings which enable individual instruction as well as an enhancement of computer skills. Student success in these preparatory areas supports the college’s QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) for all of our first-year students.
