The
following qualifications MUST be met before taking the entry exam:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be a high school graduate or have passed the
G.E.D. test.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have not been convicted any any time
of a felony offense
- Must not be on probation for any
criminal offense above a grade of Class C Misdemeanor.
- Have not been convicted of any grade
offense for family violence, Class A or B Misdemeanor offense (including DWI
or DUID) within the last five years.
- Have been honorably discharged from the
military, if applicable.
- Possess a valid Texas driver's license.
- Must have physical endurance to lift a
normal size human.
- Apply and be accepted by WCJC as a student.
Applicants will be required to pass a physical
and drug screen. Fire fighters that are already employed may not be required to
complete this part of the process. See academy packet for details.
