Students who complete the suggested Business Administration course of study will be eligible to apply for the Associate of Arts degree at WCJC. The course of study includes WCJC core curriculum and the Business Major Field of Study curricula that have been approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. This program is designed to provide the basis for completing a bachelor's degree at most four-year colleges and universities located in Texas. Additionally, the program provides flexibility allowing students to pursue accounting, economics, finance, marketing, or management majors at four-year institutions.
The mission of the Business and Economics department is to provide opportunities for individual growth and expression and promote the development of the total person. The programs curriculum seeks to lay a foundation for lifelong learning and involved citizenship and encourage the pursuit of knowledge. It prepares students for entry-level positions, for advancement in various occupations and professions (especially in business related occupations), for a broad understanding of the liberal arts and sciences, and for transfer to baccalaureate- granting institutions.
