Wharton County Junior College offers both semester-hour credit and noncredit programs, leading to certificates in career fields not requiring a degree for employment.  They are designed to provide students with specific occupational skills that enable them to enter the workforce in a short period of time. 

Workforce Development offers credit certificate programs in the following areas as shown below.  Certificate programs vary in length from fewer than 100 clock hours up to one year.  Some programs can be converted to semester credit hours.

The college is committed to promoting the quality of life and economic development of our service area. The Division of Workforce Development, Continuing Education, and Distance Learning is integral to this effort. A broad variety of noncredit offerings and grant-funded programs are offered to meet community needs as diverse as job training and skills enhancement.
