Carter 979.543.6417 WCJC FOUNDATION TO HOST SUMMER DINNER AND MUSICAL FUND DRIVE EVENT WHARTON, July 2, 2004 –The Wharton County Junior College Foundation will host a summer dinner and musical event at the end of July to benefit the Foundation’s endowment to support student scholarships, faculty development, and college programs. The event titled “From Sea to Shining Sea an American Revue” features a buffet dinner followed by a musical performance presented by the college’s fine arts faculty and special guests. The event will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the college’s Wharton campus beginning with at reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the performance. Individual tickets for the event are $50 each with sponsor tables available for $1,000. Sponsors will receive eight tickets and promotional recognition. “The Foundation has renewed its spirit to host events over the past year and we are very appreciative of their efforts,” commented WCJC President Betty McCrohan. “In the last 12 months the Foundation has raised close to $20,000 for its endowment. The Foundation’s mission is to continue to grow the endowment to further support the college.” “We encourage members of the community to support this event and our students,” continued McCrohan. “Our event offers patrons the opportunity to visit with friends, enjoy a delicious meal, and be entertained by a very talented group of people…all without having to drive to Houston or pay parking expenses. Performers are WCJC Fine Arts faculty members Dr. Paul Spellman, Phil Hart, Stephen Giovanoni, and Lee Lemson. Special guest performers are Lucille Hart and Deborah Lemson.
