I
find a book from the library online catalog but why cannot I locate it
on the
shelf?
Please
ask library staff for assistance or call the Library (Sugar Land) at
281-243-8416 or 8417 or (Wharton) at 979-532-6509, 6354 or 6953.
Starting fall
semester 2003, library has converted the entire collection from the Dewey
Decimal System to the Library of Congress Classification System.
Dewey call number begins with numbers.
LC call number begins with letters and includes the year of publication.
For
now the majority of collection are still shelved under Dewey number.
During the transition, if you cannot find any item, please search the
library online catalog and click on the title, which
is underlined in blue to see full record. In the page of full record, the “Added entry” listed
Dewey number
indicates the shelf location while
the Call number of book is LC number.
