Oral History Collection at J. M. Hodges Library

J. M. Hodges Library houses the VHS and DVD collection of  the Wharton County Historical Commission Oral History Programs.

The collection describes the settings in which oral information about the past is communicated, including informal conversations as well as formal interviews.  The scope of the collection includes the role of the person being interviewed within the community, personal and family experiences, occupations, and events and persons in the community's past.

WCJC libraries have made these oral history materials available to local researchers and the community.  The copies of program can be reproduced from the master tape either in VHS or DVD format for general public use.    To request materials, please email the library at wcjclibrary@wcjc.edu or call the library at 979-532-6357or 6953.
