This building houses the campus cafeteria, book store, Board of Trustees Meeting Room and Marketing and Communications offices. Since this building has high public exposure, good repair remains a necessity. The building remains structurally sound. The mechanical and electrical systems have been renovated.

The kitchen has received several equipment updates. A new range/oven in 1997, new dishwasher in 1996, new salad bar in 1997 with a new steamer in 1997. The roof was replaced in 1993 and HVAC system in 1998.

The future of this building is tied to the use of the campus dormitories. As student housing remains a priority on campus, Hutchins will remain an important facility.
