MyWCJC FAQs

What can I expect when I use the MyWCJC portal for the first time?

Users will be prompted to provide new secret answers and an alternate email address and/or cell phone number the first time they log into MyWCJC. To get started, follow the How to Setup MyWCJC Account and How to Create a Chosen Password for First Time Users.

How can I recover a forgotten password?

If you are an active student or employed by the college and have already provided secret answers during the account setup for first time users, please use the Reset Password utility located on the Sign In page to reset your MyWCJC password. If you have not yet provided secret answers or don't recall them, you must complete the How to Setup MyWCJC Account process. Reset Password cannot be used until secret answers are captured in the new system.

How can I reset an expired password?

If your password has already expired, please use the Reset Password utility to reset your password.

How can I unlock my account?

If you tried a wrong password multiple times, your account may get locked. You MUST wait 15 minutes for your account to unlock automatically. Then, use the Reset Password utility to reset your password.

What if I forgot my password and I do not have an alternate email address on file?

Users must contact IT Support (IT Help Desk Support or 979-532-6568).

How can I recover a forgotten username?

Your username is usually your WCJC email prefix without the @student.wcjc.edu or @wcjc.edu extension. For students, this information is included in your Welcome Letter. If you are an active student or employed by the college and you don't have a copy of a prior Welcome Letter, please use the Forgot Username utility to retrieve your username via email. You must enter one of the personal email addresses saved to your Security Profile during the First Time Users setup.

Why do I have to set up the Password Reset questions?

If you forget your password in the future, you may reset it after successfully answering the security questions anytime 24/7. It is important that you remember your answers as the Reset Password utility is your primary means for resetting your password on your own.

Will verification codes be required with every login off campus?

No, the vendor's algorithm will detect when to apply MFA based on unfamiliar or suspicious traffic.

What if I prefer to use a cell phone to receive verification codes?

With MFA, users will have both email and text options to receive the verification codes. To register your mobile device, please use the My Account section in the MyWCJC portal.

Why am I receiving communication from QuickLaunchSSO?

QuickLaunchSSO is our MFA vendor.

Why are my verifications codes delayed? I don't have enough time to enter my verification code.

The College does not have complete control of message delivery to your external email provider. While verification codes are sent immediately, some email providers take longer to deliver messages. Often, SMS text messages are delivered faster than email messages. If you have a mobile phone, you are encouraged to register your phone number using the My Account section in the MyWCJC portal. If email delivery is your only option, please open your mailbox in another browser window/tab before you log into the MyWCJC portal. This step should cut down on the time needed to retrieve your verification code.

Why am I getting an invalid verification code?

Verification codes are only active for 10 minutes after they have been sent. Please allow some time for the verification code to arrive. If you click resend to generate another verification code, be sure to use the latest code sent. Carefully type your verification code to ensure accuracy.

Why am I getting prompted repeatedly after I've completed MFA verification on my device?

MFA stores a number of factors for your device, such as IP address, browser version, location and others. If any of these factors change, you will be prompted to re-verify your device. Don't forget to click the "Trust this device" if appropriate.

Why should I log out when using a public computer or computer in the labs on campus?

If you don't log out of the MyWCJC Portal when using a public computer, other people may be able to access private information, such as your WCJC ID (@00#), grades, address, messages, etc. To log out, click Sign Out, which is located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. After logging out, be sure to close all copies of your browser. Closing the browser windows will help ensure the security of your account.

How can I report a technical issue?

Please contact the IT Help Desk at 979-532-6568 or submit an IT Help Desk Support form.
