As an institution dedicated to providing affordable and accessible education, we have served Wharton County and beyond for over 75 years. At WCJC, our role goes beyond providing education to our students; we also have a responsibility to give back to the community that has supported us for so long.
It's free. It's beneficial. People come in and give helpful suggestions. It's helpful to seniors that live alone and it allows them to meet and talk to other people. It provides seniors with at least one nutritious meal a day.
Whether you're looking to upskill or reskill, our workforce and continuing education programs can help you achieve your goals. We offer certificate programs, professional development courses, customized training solutions for individuals and businesses, and leisure learning classes.
Our adult education and literacy (AEL) programs provide a learning environment for you to learn English as a second language, prepare for your High School Equivalency (HSE/GED) test, and take career oriented classes for free.
At WCJC, we recognize the importance of lifelong learning and social engagement for our senior citizens. Our senior citizen programs include congregate meals, meals for qualified homebound individuals, education programs, games and activities, health screenings, information and assistance, and local transportation. These programs provide opportunities for our senior citizens to stay active and connect with others in their community.
