WCJC Announces Preliminary Trustee Election Results
With the majority of precincts reporting, Wharton County Junior College has announced the preliminary results of its Board of Trustees election.

Merle R. Hudgins of East Bernard, Monty Merecka of Boling, and incumbent Danny Gertson of East Bernard were elected to serve six-year terms beginning May 2012 and expiring May 2018 for the Wharton County Junior College District. Merecka will fill position 6 held by Gerald Donaldson of Boling. Hudgins will fill position 5 held by Rick Davis of El Campo. Gertson ran unopposed for position 7. Click here for more information.
New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is offered to all first time entering students on July 10 at the Sugar Land campus, July 11 at the Richmond campus, and July 12 at the Wharton campus. Register online now. Seating is limited. Sessions are approximately 4 hours long and prepare you for academic success. Build your plan, select the right classes, and receive hands on training with WCJC's registration program. Graduation

Wharton County Junior College will hold commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 18 in the gymnasium on the Wharton campus. The ceremony for AA and AAT degrees will take place at 2 p.m. and the ceremony for AAS degrees will be held at 6 p.m. Following each ceremony there will be a reception in the Pioneer Student Center for graduates and guests.
