Sean Amestoy has coached rodeo at WCJC for 26 years and was named NIRA Southern Region
Coach of the year in 2001. Sean’s personal rodeo experience includes 15 years as a
Bareback rider at the youth, amateur and professional ranks. As a student at Tarleton
State University, Sean competed in the NIRA for four years. Sean earned a Bachelor
of Science in Agri-Business from Tarleton State University and a Master of Science
in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University. In his long list of accomplishments
at WCJC, Coach Amestoy has produced 104 CNFR Event Qualifiers, 4 CNFR National Championships,
4 NIRA Southern Region Team Champions, and 41 NIRA Southern Region Event Champions. “I believe strongly in three methods of preparation for athletes and life in general
