Trey Benton
Class of 2012; Former WCJC Bull Rider
Benton excelled in the arena throughout his time at WCJC. He went onto win 13 rodeos, earn Reserve World Champion Bull Rider honors, and went on to win the George Paul Memorial Bull Riding rodeo in Del Rio three times. He was named to the WCJC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2021.

Sean Amestoy

Sean Amestoy

Head Coach

Sean Amestoy has coached rodeo at WCJC for 26 years and was named NIRA Southern Region Coach of the year in 2001. Sean’s personal rodeo experience includes 15 years as a Bareback rider at the youth, amateur and professional ranks. As a student at Tarleton State University, Sean competed in the NIRA for four years. Sean earned a Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business from Tarleton State University and a Master of Science in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University. In his long list of accomplishments at WCJC, Coach Amestoy has produced 104 CNFR Event Qualifiers, 4 CNFR National Championships, 4 NIRA Southern Region Team Champions, and 41 NIRA Southern Region Event Champions. 

“I believe strongly in three methods of preparation for athletes and life in general - mental, physical, and spiritual. They all need to be worked on every day.”
