WHARTON, TEXAS – The Wharton County Junior College Choir will cover spirituals, jazz standards and songs from well-known musicals at its upcoming concert, “Come Travel With Us.” The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Horton Foote Theatre in the Duson-Hansen Fine Arts Building on the Wharton campus. The show is free and open to the public.

“The songs feature catchy melodies and texts with hopeful themes that will really resonate with the audience,” said WCJC Choir Director Dr. Karl Paoletti. “I think the public will really enjoy these popular and inspiring songs about life’s journeys.”

The concert will feature a variety of songs, including popular jazz tunes like “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” from the Broadway musical Hamilton and “How Far I’ll Go” from the Disney smash Moana. The common theme is life’s journeys.

“I was inspired to pick songs about traveling and the journeys of life because of our upcoming road trip,” Paoletti said.

The WCJC Choir will perform in Branson, Mo., in May.
