WHARTON, TEXAS — The Wharton County Junior College Choir’s first concert of the Fall 2026 semester will feature the combined talents of college faculty, students and the community.
Part of the college’s 80th anniversary celebration, “An Evening of Music” is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Horton Foote Theatre in the Duson-Hansen Fine Arts Building on the Wharton campus. A reception begins at 6 p.m. and will include light refreshments and promotional items. The event is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature special performances by faculty members including WCJC Band Director Dr. Jeffrey Anderson, WCJC Instructor of Music Dr. Brittany May, WCJC Instructor of Music Debra Lemson and WCJC Choir Director Dr. Karl Paoletti and his wife, Ronda. The WCJC Community Choir, directed by Mike Henderson, will also perform, joining the WCJC Choir for Everything’s Coming Up Broadway!
WCJC this year is celebrating its 80th anniversary. The college was founded in 1946.
