Health professionals are crucial to medicine, caring for patients, supporting healthcare systems, and providing medical education. Before you can enter one of these programs, there are prerequisites you must complete. Take the first step toward a rewarding career by enrolling in one of our pre-allied health programs.

Four Programs. Four Specialized Prerequisite Maps.

Four of our Health & Personal Care programs have prerequisite courses that you must take in order to be eligible for the degree program. Review the pre-program academic map and learn more about the associated degree program.

Pre-Dental Hygiene

The Dental Hygiene program prepares you for the field of dentistry through hands-on experience in our clinic and classroom lectures that focus on anatomy, nutrition, and best practices for those in the field. This is a recommended academic map for fulfilling the prerequisites and corequisites while awaiting acceptance into the Dental Hygiene Associate of Applied Science program or for students wishing to obtain an Associate of Science degree in General Studies for transfer.

Pre-Physical Therapy

Our Physical Therapist Assistant program provides hands-on training and expert instruction to help you become a vital member of the healthcare team. This is a recommended course of study for fulfilling the prerequisites and corequisites for entrance into the Physical Therapist Assistant Associate of Applied Science program or for students wishing to obtain an Associate of Science degree in General Studies for transfer to a baccalaureate program to prepare for Physical Therapy.

Pre-Radiology

Our Radiologic Technology program provides you with the knowledge and experience to become an entry-level radiologic technologist. This is a recommended course of study for fulfilling the prerequisites and corequisites for entrance into the Radiologic Technology Associate of Applied Science program or for students wishing to obtain an Associate of Science degree in General Studies for transfer to a baccalaureate program to prepare for Radiology.

Pre-Nursing

Through hands-on training, WCJC’s nursing program will teach you how to use sound clinical judgment and provide patient- and community-centered care. This is a recommended course of study for fulfilling the prerequisites and corequisites for entrance into the Associate Degree Nursing program. It contains the pre-requisite and corequisite courses for the WCJC ADN program as well as the recommended courses for many baccalaureate nursing programs at a four-year institution of higher education.
