Pregnancy and Parenting

Lactation Rooms

Lactation rooms are available on all WCJC campuses on a first come, first serve basis.

• Bay City - Room 108
• Richmond Campus - Room 240 H
• Sugar Land Campus - Brazos Hall, Room 341
• Wharton Campus - Pioneer Student Center, Room 304

Pregnancy & Parenting Accommodations

WCJC supports pregnant and parenting students in a variety of ways, determined on an individual basis.  The types of supports that may be provided include: 

• Working with faculty to accommodate pregnancy or childbirth related absences and allow for make-up work.
• Provide excused absences due to pregnancy related concerns.
• Provide excused absences for parenting students who need to take their children to doctors' appointments or to take care of their sick children, as long as proper documentation is provided.
• Work with faculty to provide classroom accommodations including allowing breaks as needed and providing a detached chair/desk.
