Wharton County Junior College is collaborating with the University of Houston to streamline the transfer process for graduates pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

The Wharton County Junior College Band will present the “Orchestral Gems for Band” concert at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Horton Foote Theatre in the Duson-Hansen Fine Arts Building on the Wharton campus. The Wharton County Junior College Pioneers Alumni Baseball Game will take place at noon this Saturday, Oct. 18, at Corbett Park in Wharton. The game showcases the talents of former WCJC baseball players with those on the current roster. The event is open to the public and free of admission.

The Wharton County Junior College Senior Citizen’s Program will hold its annual 5K Stride and Stroll fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Riverfront Park in Wharton. There is still time to register by calling 979-532-6430. Pictured are competitors from the 2024 event.

Wharton County Junior College hosted Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Commissioner Dr. Wynn Rosser at the Richmond campus on Sept. 18. The event included a Student/Alumni Panel Discussion which provided insight on how WCJC has positively affected the lives of students. Wharton County Junior College President Dr. Amanda Allen and the WCJC Board of Trustees will participate in the Aspen Institute’s Presidents & Trustees Collaborative, an initiative designed to strengthen board-president alignment in an effort to improve student outcomes.
